Mrs A. Bryan is spending a few days in Auckland, the guest of Mrs Innis, of Mt. Eden. •

Mrs Blennerhassett is ; the guest of her mother, Mrs Innis, Mt. Eden. Mrs C. W. Berry is visiting Auckland. i .

Mrs V. c. Haynes, who has been the guest of Mrs A. Chapman, has returned -to her home at Whakatane.

Miss Jean Macdonald, bf Sydney, is the guest of Mrs F. S. Miller, Parawai.

Mrs Gilmer is visiting Auckland this week. , ,

Miss Jean Shaw has returned to Auckland, after spending her vacation <=»• at Thames.

Mrs J. H. Adams is visiting Rotorua. Mrs Redward, of Dannevirke, Is visiting Mrs A. Fisher. The Junior Bridge Club held its weekly meeting at Mrs MacMillan’s residence.

Margaret and Pauline Shaw enter- -j tained a few of their friends to tea .. ofi Thursday last. There were present: D. Bryan, M. Price, A. and B. Blacky N. Miller, J. Court, J. Foulgrain, E. McCullough and N. Cooke. Competitions were the f order of the" ■ evening, the senior one' being won by Joan Court and the jqnior by Nola h Miller. Others were won by Joan ‘Court and;Nancy Cooke. On Thursday afternoon Mrs F. S. Miller gave a bridge afternoon for her < guest, Miss Macdonald. There were present: Miss Macdonald, Mrs B. Watson, Mrs E. (J. Clendon,'Mrs C. B. Lockett, Mrs M. V. Boles, Mrs C. Read and Mrs A. Bryan. The prize" was won by Mrs E. Watson. On, Friday evening, Mrs F. S. Mil- : ler a three-table bridge for her guest, Miss Macdonald, there being ', present: Mr and Mrs B. >B. Clendon,' Mr and Mrs Cl J. Garland, Mr and Mrs Shaw, Mrs C. Read, Mr and Mrs , M. V. Boles, and Mr A: E. L. Dodd. The prizes were won by Mrs C. Read and Mr’C. J. Garland.

■Mr and Mrs C: R. Cooke gave a. musical evening on Saturday to Mr\ and Mrs J. E. Anderson. There were present: Mr . and Mrs J. E. Anderson, Mrs Bennett (Te Puke), Dr and Mrs Liggins, Mrs E. J. Clendon, Mrs (Dr) Sowerby, Mr and Mrs W. H. Hoult, . Mr and Mrs D. Black and Miss P. Cooke. Mrs Anderson conttir Rafted: several pianoforte items and also' accompanied her sister, Mrs Bennett, in her violin solos. Mrs Anderson and Dr Liggins also played several pianoforte All the music was very much l appreciated.
