Apparently the garbled phraseology of the Public Works Department camps contains quite a number of terms descriptive of a man's condition when he has been consorting with Bacchus. So at least it would appear from the evidence of Public Works Department labourers giving evidence in the Napier Supreme Court laf>t week. One witness, questioned as to his condition on a f: certain day, remarked that he was "completely cuckoo," and a little later in the hearing he was descrilwd by a companion, as "well lit" on this particular occasion.
