MONDAY’S WRESTLING.
CRUISER-WEIGHT CONTEST,
POLLARD V. O’BRIEN.
Mr B. D. Chapman, manager of the King’s Theatre, has promoted, a match between Chas. Pollard and Pat. O’Brien, wh/ch should draw a packed house on 'Monday, as both opponents j state that they are in perfect fitness.
Pollard is the Australasian cruiserweight champion, who has an undefeated record at his, own weight. He is classed as a “rough-house” wrestler as "well as a scientific one. He was the only sparring partner to John Kilonis, who recently visited New Zealand.
Chas. Pollard recently visited Australia, and was very successful, winning all his matches but one, which was a draw with Pregrantis, who was one of the best wrestlers to leave America. Pollard has been promised a match shortly with one of the American wrestlers at present in Auckland.
O’Brien, his opponent, is the Irish cruiser-weight, and has a fine record on the mat as a scientific and sound wrestler.
