FAVOURABLE COMMENT.
N.Z.’S FINANCIAL POSITION.
ARTICLE BV “THE TIMES.”
THE PREMIER PLEASED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 13.
A cablegram was received to-day by the Prime Minister from the High Commissioner, sir James Parr, stating that the London Times, in a leading article, makes favourable references to the finances of the Dominion.
Sir Joseph Ward expressed satisfaction with the comment; adding that, in view of the fact that no effort had been made on the part of the Government to influence the financial authorities in England, it would be reassuring to some New Zealanders, who were having some misrepresentations put before them in connection with the Budget.
