"BIG BILL'S" FUND.
POLICE AND FIREMEN TO PAY. The invitation of "Big Bill" Thomson, the Mayor of Chicago, to the Chicago police to pay £2 each for enrollment in his "America First" foundation has been followed by a drive to secure a similar toll from the firemen of the. city. It is difficult for the men to refuse, because the city controls both departments. The police are asked to pay hi one sum, but the firemen have the privilege of payment by instalments.
