THAMES HIGH SCHOOL.

MEETING OF GOVERNORS. MANY 'MATTERS DISCUSSED. „The meeting of the Thames High School Board of Governors was held in the secretary's office this morning, when the- following attended:—Dr J. B. Eiggins (chairman), Rev. J. Milne, Messrs C. S. Donovan, A. Burns, S. C. Muir, J-. W. Danby, H. R. Bush, J. Rowe and J. Kernick (secretary). With the approval of'the lessee (Mr W. Re veil) Mr T. Stewart was granted a prospecting licence over a portion of the Board's endowment at Te Aroha. A letter was also received from Mr Revell stating that the recent fire on the Te Aroha mountain had given his land a good burn, and he had put down grass seed. He also thanked the Board for its assistance to him over the matter. A letter from Mr H. F. "Behrent, notifying his intention to surrender his lease, was. received, and the chairman was deputed to attend to the matter, being given power to take what action he deemed necessary. ■

In the matter of the removal of a house on the Board's endowment lands at Waiorongomai, the Endowment Committee was instructed to exercise supervision over the removal and to call tenders for the removal. . Waiorongomai Quarry. The Piako County Council wrote that the Council was not prepared to discuss the matter of opening up the quarry again. The Board decided to reply that unless the quarry is worked they will have to take further action. Accounts amounting to £343/19/8 were passed for payment. Rev. Milne reported that the'school windows needed repairing, and his recommendation was referred to the Grounds Committee, with'■power to act. Messrs Bongard and Burns were appointed the next visiting committee.
