A young man had a iuutoav escape from being buried alive with sand at St. Clair. It appears that he and a friend had excavated tAvo holes in the sand about seven feet deep. They then commenced to burroAV toAvards each other, and Avhen one of them Avas Aveli in the tunnel the sand on top collapsed burying the unfortuate youth several feet deep. The prompt efforts of the friend "and onlookers with spades brought the victim of the mishap speedily to the surface little the worse for his short burial.
