More than ordinary interest will attach to the annual meeting of the Auckland Licensing Committee, which will be held on June 2nd., as an application will* be renewed on behalf of Mr James Gleeson for a hotel license for a building in Quay Street on the waterfront. The application will be met by considerable opposition, and a petition ,is being prepared for presentation to the committee urging that the request shall not be acceded to.
