, V MOTOR-DRIVERS SENTENCED. AUCKLAND, May 14. At the Supreme Court, Andrew Donald, charged with causing the death of Robert Thomas Dagg, by negligently driving a motor-car, was lined £75. Mr. Justice Herdman said he agreed with the jury’s recommendation to mercy on account of his state of mind after visiting his sick mother, and he also took into consideration his youth and good character. Leslie John Mullaney, for tour charges of breaches of the Bankruptcy Act, received six months’ hard labour. Edward Victor Eleombe, for theft, forgery and uttering, 12 months’ hard labour. ■ AVilliam Ashdown, for negligent driving and causing bodily harm, six months’ hard labour, his license to be suspended for two years. The Judge described him as a callous driver.
