ART UNIONS.

A NEW DEVICE THAT PROTECTS . THE PUBLIC.

■ The one great defect in the conduct of any Art -Union is the risk of tickets going astray, and the holder, as. a desuit, being deprived of participation in the draw. Realising this, the promoters of the Grand National Raffle have, at considerable expense ynd trouble to themselves, originated and introduced the double butt. Each ticket purchased has a butt attached to it, and by filling in this butt and posting it to the head office in Oamaru, the holder will be assured that his or her''' ticket is included in the draw. By this means every ticket holder is protected, and since the Grand National Raffle is theonly Art Union using this double butt, the public will no doubt patronise that Art Union which offers this, protection.

The first prize is £3150, and there are 238 other prizes, making a total of £SOOO, Tickets 2/6, or book of nine for £l. The prizes will be drawn next month.

Intending investors are advised to Jose no time in obtaining their tickets, full particulars of which are inserted to-day on page 7.
