AMUSEMENTS.

KING’S THEATRE. CHAPMAN & HAYNES’ PICTURES. A cast of favourites will be seen in First National’s new picture, “Frivolous Sal,” at the King’s Theatre tonight. Included are Eugene O’Brien, Mae Busch, Mildred Harris, Tom Santschi, little Ben Alexander and Mitchell Lewis. Film fans are accustomed to seeing Eugene O’Brien as the polished, urban man of fashion. In “Frivolous Sal,” his latest picture, however, he has an entirely different role. He rides madly over mountain trails, chases a band of robbers into a huge ice cave and finally battles the ringleader as the two shoot across a mountain gorge in the bucket of an aerial tranaway. The picture, love drama of the pioneer Western mining camps, affords O’Brien an opportunity for some rapid-fire and thrilling action. QUEEN’S THEATRE TO-NIGHT. Splendid co-operation on the part of the United States Government officials on the West Coast enabled Irvin Willat to use six air-mail planes during the filming of his latest production, “The Air Mail;” which wiil.l be the feature at the Queen’s Theatre tonight. The story has to do with the activities of a band of crooks who go about the systematic robbing of the U.S. air mail planes. Much of the action of the picture takes place above the clouds and the production is said to contain scenes that are genuine hair-raisers.
