TE AROHA TRAFFIC BRIDGE.

COMMISSION’S FINDING. /; BRIDGE TO BE RE-BUILT. . ' The report of the Commissioner (Mr Salmon), who sat same time ago to determine whether the Te Aroha' traffic bridge should . be reconstructed and what proportion of the cost should' be paid by the local bodies interested, has been received by the Pi-alto County Council. The report recommends that the bridge be rebuilt; that ’the cost be borne in the following proportions: County Council, 30 per cent., Borough Council 70 per cent. No opinion was expressed with regard to the disposal of the present structure, which the commissioner considered will be settled by mutual agreement. . Each side will pay its own costs as already agreed. The Commissioner considered that the rate should be over the whole County. With regard to the rate, Mr Gilchrist said that the finding of. the Commissioner was not absolutely definite, and the Council could please itself as to whether the rate should be over the whole County.
