RAID ON NIGHT CLUBS.
A CLEVER RUSE. ONE HUNDRED NAMES TAKEN. (A. and N.Z. Cable.) EON DON, Feb. 22. Simultaneous midnight raids on several night clubs were carried out at Brighton. The entrance to the largest was gained by means of a ruse. A uniformed constable stopped at the door when a confrere in evening dress rushed up and threatened to strike the constable. The door opened and the man rushed past the doorkeeper, who ran after him. At this moment 25 officers in evening dress arrived in taxis and rushed in. The proprietress described the raid as most friendly. Dancing continued while a hundred names were taken. The officers remained to see the cabaret.
