PUBLIC NOTICE. COUNTY OF HAURAKI PLAINS. NOTICE OF ;INTENT-lON TO BORROW. Loan of £7750 for the construction of Bitumen Roads in the Turua District Roads Loan Special Rating Area. Notice is hereby given:— 1. That it is the intention of the Hauraki Plains County Council under the provisions of the Counties Act, 1920, The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1913, and amendments thereof respectively and all, other acts, if any, it in that behalf enabling to borrow the sum of £7750 for the following purposes:— £. (a) Improving, metalling, and laying down as a bitumen road, Hauraki Road from Willow Drain to the southern end of the strip of bitu-men-road near Turua Post Office 2565. (b) Improving, metalling ' and laying down as a Bitumen Road, Hauraki Road from the Turua Post Office to the northern boundary of the Turua Town District, a distance of approximately 52 chains 1650 (c) Improving, metalling and laying down as a Bitumen Road, Raratuna Street, from Hauraki Road to Oparia Road, a distance of approximately 27 chains 405 (d) Improving, metalling and laying down as a Bitumen Road, Awa Street for a distance of approximately 6 chains 155 (e) Improving, metalling and laying down as a Bitumen Road. Oparia Road from Gisler’s Road to Johnston’s a distance of approximately 18 chains 285 (f) Improving, metalling, and laying down as a Bitumen Road, Piako Road from the ; Turua Post Office to Hick’s Corner, a distance of approximately 67 chains .. ISOO (g) Contingencies for and in connection with any one or more or all of the abovementioned purposes .. 340 (h) Interest and sinking fund for the first year and preliminary expenses .. .. 550

That as security for the payment of interest, sinking fund and other charges on the said loan, it is the intention of the said Council to make and levy a special rate of five pence (sd) in the £ upon the rateable value (unimproved) of all rateable property in the Turua District Roads Loan 'Special Rating Area hereinafter described. 3. That it is _the intention of the said Council to pay out of the loan the cost of raising the loan and the interest and sinking fund for the first year. 4. The loan is for a period of 36| years at such rate of interest ? not exceeding so much as may be authorised under Section 11 of the Finance Act, 1921, together with an additional charge to provide the necessary sinking fund. The boundaries of the said special rating area are as follows: — Commencing at a point being the South Eastern Corner of the Turua Town District, bounded towards the South by a line proceeding in a south-westerly direction along the southern boundary of the Turua Town District, thence / along the southern boundary of Section 19 of Turua Estate to the eastern boundary of Lot 2 of Section 7 of .Block II of the Waihou Survey District, thence bounded towards the west by a line proceeding in a northerly direction along the eastern boundary of the said Lot 2 of Section 7 of Block 11, of the Waihou Survey District, to and across the Piako Road and along the eastern boundary o Section 14 of Block 11. of the Waihou Survey District, to a point chains 50 links north of the southern boundary of Oparia Block No. 1, thence towards the north pro< ee in an easterly direction by a nga_ line to the north-westerly corner of the Turua Town District m tae sai n • No 1. and thence Oparia Block along the northern boundary of the Turua Town District to the Waihou River, a.d thence towards the ran. nroceedin* in a southerly direction P (Continued on next column).
