LABOUR AND HONOUR.

In the bustle and hustle of the present day it is pleasing to come across instances of co-operation of employers and workers in industrial concerns, thereby ensuring success to their operations. The unity of purpose and good work performed by the staff of the Ilauraki Plains Dairv employees was especially mentioned by the Chairman of Directors at the annual meeting the other day, and the manager in turn also showed how ably the staff had assisted during a very difficult year of work. By their separate and joint efforts the campany had had a most successful year. This shows that every part of the entire spstem must have Avorked loyally and in harmony one with the other. While there is undoubtedly an obligation on the part of the workers to do a fair thing, there is also an obligation on the employers to see that their staff’s efforts are appreciated, that due compensation is given for the work performed, and that when they have a good staff Avorking in harmony they do not alloiv any friction

to upset that smooth running
