UNLUCKY BRENNAN.

Louis Brennan appears to have made a distinct success at last. His hovering aeroplane has shaped remarkably well in the course of the tests set at Farnborougli, and British aerial experts are said to be greatly elated. Louis Brennan is the Australian inventor. *He first went to England with the Brennan torpedo. He was born at Williamstown, and completed his torpedo there. He did not have the triumph his fine invention deserved, thanks to the bullheadedness of the War Office.

But Brennan is an indefatigable inventor ,of the sort that nothing can keep down. He next had a dash at a new rifle, and then got going on his famous monorail railway, which also has of late been utilised on various lines. The principle of the helicopter is incorporated in the hovering aeroplane now brought forward.

Brennan has been one of the most inventors that ever lived, and it is up to him to score at last. All his inventions were brilliant, involving splendid ideas, but for one reason or another none of them e\er got there in an emphatic way. It is hoped that he now has something that will adequately reward his years of devotion to science. His machine is intended to enable aeroplanes to remain ouite stationary in the air, and if it is really successful it is anticipated that it will reduce the possibility of air accidents to a minimum.
