QUEEN’S THEATRE. FRANK MAYO. To-night only at the 'Cosey Queen’s Frank Mayo will he seen in “The Altar Stairs,” a story of a man who was pretty hard-boiled; one of the in the South Seas, and yet too clean roughest traders and ship captains at heart to mix with the natives. Louise Lorraine plays opposite Frank Mayo in this production. Good sup ports accompany this picture, including a Budget, Robinson Crusoe, and a hvo-reel comedy “Women First,” featuring Lee Morin. Tomorrow night a lne double-star programme will be shown, including Thomas Meighan in “The Bachelor Daddy.” THE POPULAR KING’S. The folly of any person trying to live without work, is one of the basic ideas brought out in the latest George Arliss photoplay, “The Ruling Passion,” at the King’s Theatre tonight. Mr Arliss, the star, pietiuises the part of a multi-millionaire automobile manufacturer, who is led to retire to his big country estate to seek relaxation from business cares. So, to save himself from going to j pieces, he secretly goes into a small time garage business, and finds immediately rejuvenation and peacei Doris Kenyon is charming as the leading lady. 'Supporting films include “The Dog Catcher” a clever comedy, the latest Pathe Gazette, including Paris fashions, “Get Out and Get Under” a splendid 2-reel Harold Lloyd comedy To-morrow night there will be a double star programme. Vivian Martin in “Song of the Soul,” Dorothy Gish in a 5reel comedy drama, “The Country Flapper,” and a 2-reel Jimmy Aubrey comedy entitled “Backyard.”
