HAMILTON 'SALE. The Farmers’ Co-op. Auot. Co., report: — At Hamilton sale on Tuesday, July 24, there was a good entry of sheep, with a steady demand for mutton, butchers from outside centres operating. Heavy prime fat ewes madt 31/6 and 31/9; lighter fat ewes 27/: fat wethers, 32/9 to 25/6; forward hoggets 20/2 to 22/6. There was a ready sale for beef, mainly grown steers, lacking in finish, the best selling at £7/5/ to £7/10/; lighter weights, £6 to £6/5/; fat cows, good, £5/7/6 to £5/15/-. The advertised forward bullocks sold well up to recent values, making £4/15/ to £5/6/. Store cows, 26/ to 27/6; calves, pool’, 10/ to £l/4/-. A smaller yarding of fat pigs realised good values, baconers selling to £4/3/ 1 porkers -to £2/15/. A large entry of store pigs brought strong competition, grown steers selling at from 27/ to 36/6; slips and other stores, 16/ to 26/; weaners. 10/ to 14/6.
