WOOL SALE.
KEEN DEMAND. (Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Feb. 17. The wool sale was thoroughly representative, the catalogues including Marlborough merinos. Competition was exceedingly keen. Halfbred sold at last sale fine crossbreds were taken by America, at practically the same rate as in January. Medium crossbreds, considering the quality sold, were much better. Coarse crossbreds showed a shade of improvement on last sale rates. Hoggets were in demand by Bradford and sold at from £d to fd advance on January rates. Lambs were wanted chiefly by France and America, at |d to Id advance on January.
'The sales are proceeding with the old time eagerness and about' 95 per cent of clearance was effected in the room.
