A TRAGEDY.
IN A CHURCH. MADDENED BY JEALOUSY. (A. and N.Z. Cable.) (Received 11 a.m.) ROME, Dee. 27. The congregation at Bari, after a sermon at midnight Mass preached, according to tradition, by a local layman, became panic stricken on hearing shots and stampeded. A soldier named Loruso, maddened by jealousy, shot his sweetheart with a revolver at point blank range) mortally wounding her. He then committed suicide on the altar steps.
