COMMISSION'S REPORT. MATAMATA FARMERS PROTEST. Mr-J. Price spoke to-the Matamata branch of the New Zealand Farmers' Union on 'Saturday, reviewing the evidence and report of the Thames Harbour Commission,; says the Morrinsville Star.- He criticised.both at length, stating that it would not be understood how such a decision, as affecting Matamata town area and county, Could be arrived at. It was further resdlved that tele--grams be forwarded to the Prime Minister. the/Minister for Internal Affairs, and the members for.- /surrounding districts stating that a. strong protest was being made. In moving a vote of thanks- to Mr - Pi-ice, Mr A. Bowler, stated that it was good for the district that it had such'a man to work" for it; The motion was carried by acclamation. Mr. Price said he was working for the district as a whole and required, no thanks for himself. H& wanted justice for the district. He was cotifindent that the proposed ' scheme would not benefit Matamata, and he knew Thames and the whole yjalley from childhood. He would do his utmost to prevent the being adopted.
