COALMINES HELD UP. (Press Association.)' AUCKLAND, Dec. 23. Work at the Waikato coal mine? has been interrupted during the last-two days owing i't'o a shortage of railway trucks. The Taupiri miners were idle on Wednesday afternoon and again yesterday afternoon, while work ceased at Pukemiro/at 2,30 p.m. on Wednesday, and at 11 a.m. yesterday. The shortage of trucks is mainly duo to the usual withdrawal of large numbers in order to prepare them for passenger traffic to the Ellerslie races next week.
