PUBLIC NOTICE. COUNTY OF HAURAKI PLAINS. NOTICE OF INTENTION TO BORROW LOAN of £30,600 for the Purchase of Land, Ejection of County Chambers, Purchase of Furniture, Machinery and Plant, and Purchase of Quarries, Quarry Sites, Machinery, and other Equipment therefor. Notice is hereby given:— 1. That it is the intention of the Hauraki Plains County Council, under the provisions of the Counties Act, 1.920, the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1913, and amendments thereto, respectively and all other Acts, if any it in that behalf enabling, to borrow the sum of £30,600, for the following purposes i- 1 - (a) The sum of £BOO for the purchase of land at Ngatea, to be used as a County site for the County Chambers, the Engineer's house, and a depot. (b) The sum of £2500 for the erection of County Chambers at Ngatea, and for the purchase of furniture and fittings therefor. (c) The sum of £2BOO for the purchase of a road roller. (d) The sum. of £7200 for the purchase of four metal trucks. (e) The sum of £250 for the purcha e of a scarifier. (f) Th<s sum of £l5O for the purchase of a water-cart. (g) The sum of £BOO for the purchase of a portable stonecrusher. (h) The sum of £3OO for the. purchase of portable bins . and screens. (i) ' The sum of £SOO for the pur- "' i chase of an engine to drive portable crusher. (j) The sum of £I2OO for the erection ©f four bins, two on the Waihou and two on the Piako .River. (k) The sum of £4OO for the purchase of one tar-sprayer. (1) The sum of £4OO for the purchase of a concrete-mixer. (m) The sum of £SOO for the purchase of elevating machinery for bins. (n)-The sum of £250 for the purchase of a grader. (o) The sum of £IOOO for the purchase of two tractors. (p) The sum of £l5O for the purchase of scoops. (q) The sum of £IOOO for the purchase of one towing launch. (r) The sum of £BOOO for the purchase of quarries, quarry sites, machinery, plani, and other equipment therefor: (s) The sum of £2400 for the payment of the first year's interest and sinking fund and preliminary expenses. 2. That as security for the payment' of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the said loan, it is the intention of the said Council to make and levy a Special Rate of one halfpenny in the £ upon the rateable value (unimproved) of all rateable property in the County of Hauraki Plains. 3. That it is the intention of the 'said Council to pay out of the loan the cost of raising the loan interest and sinking fund for the first year. 4. The loan is for a period of 36$ years, at such rate of interest not exceeding so much as may be authorised under Section 11 of the Finance Act, 1921, together with an additional charge to provide the necessarv sinking fund. Pursuant of Section 10 of the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a POLL of the ratepayers of the Couhty*of Hauraki Plains, on the proposal to raise the above-mentioned Loan, will be held between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on WEDNESDAY, the 18th day of JANUARY, 3922, at the following polling places: — Miller and Son's Office, Turua.
