IV Aro, secretary of the Kercpeehi branch of the New Zealand Farmerg’ Union. Tho letter was as follows: —“I am directed by' tho Rerep coin branch of tho New Zealand Farmers’ Union to write urging you to take stops to have blackberries and foscuo removed from tho county roads to prevent any further spread of same. Wo aro of the opinion that foscuo (although not gazetted as a noxious weed), is spreading over the Plains, and unless keptin check will, before very long; causo more trouble than noxious weeds.’’ Cr. Death, said that tho Government could, if it thought lit, declare fescue to bo a noxious weed. Cr. Parfitt said that there was much gorso and foxglove growing on tho Waitakaruru-Pipiroa Road After some discussion, it was decided, on tho motion of Cr. Death, that tho clerk should write to the Minister for Agriculture, drawing his attention to tho fact that tall fescue was rapidly spreading, and asking that ho should declare it to bo a noxious weed in the' Hauraki Plains County.
