Two junior ' and one senior mateh were played, and there was soiri? very rapid scoring. In the senior match, Ponsonby and Marist Bros. Old Boys met, anH the former won on the call of time by 29 points to 27. During the match one Ponsonby player twisted his $ ankle badly, and had to leave tbe field, and in the last 10 minutes another player, in making a flying tackle, sustained a very nasty kick on the. face, and had to be carried off. The junior matches were keenly contested. Ponsonby third juniors defeated Kings.land'by 15 points to V 3, and Parnelfdefeated Ellerslie by . 14 to 3. Mr. Farrant refereed all the games. f ' y The League players returned t(3 1 Auckland by yesterday's boat.
