Mr. F. E. Powell of Auckland, is visiting Thames. • Mr. Shepherd of Coromandel, was in town yesterday. Mr. Cartwright of Auckland, is visiting Thames. Mr. A. Wilkie of Marton, is spending a few days at-Thames. Mr, Cumber worth of Auckland, is spending a few days hi Thames. . Mr. P. Lewis-, of Hamilton,, who has been visiting Thames left this morning.

Mr. A. Christie* is at present at a private hospital in Auckland where ho is having bis eyes attended .to-. Mr. J. J. Rowe, station-master at Paeroa, has resumed duties after his annual vacation.

Mr. J. 0. Miller, chairman of the Hauraki Plains County Council, who has been confined to his home for some time, is now about again.

Mr. R. J. Dillon, Hauraki Plaiiis County Engineer, was on a business visit to Thames during the week-end. A cablegram from London states that Mr. Masscy has" received the freedom of the City of Sheffield.

The Chief Postmaster at Thames, Mr. A. Roberts, has heen appointed hy the Governor-General to take and receive statutory declarations.
