(A. and N.Z, Cable). LONDON, August 4. The Irish Labour Party and Trade Union Congress at Dublin debated the high cost of living and the proposed reduction of wages. Speakers contended that the official estimates of the cost of living were too low.

The chairman, declared that very shortly there would occur one oi the greatest upheavals in thei history of the Irish Labour movement.

One delegate proposed taking up the employers’ challenge en masse, adding : “That means facing the possibility of a social revolution.”
