PATETONGA TO PAEROA.

FORMATION OF ROAD URGED.

(From Our Travelling Reporter.) At the last meeting of the Paeroa Chamber of Commerce a letter was received from the Crown settlers at the Paeroa end of the Patetonga settlement, stating. that ■ a reply had not yet been received from the Crown Lands Commissioner (Mr. Skeet), regarding their request that the department should complete, as soon as possible, the road from Patetonga to Paeroa. A start had not yet beeii made and a deputation had been appointed to wait on Mr. Skeet, also the Chief Drainage Engineer, Mr. J. B. Thompson, to urge that a start should be made at once.

Mr., G. Sanders, who is acting as secretary for the settlers in this matter stated, in his letter to the Chamber, that a reply to the request asking Messrs. Skeet and' Thompson to fix a date for the deputation had not yet been received,- but that the Chamber would receive a copy oi» its arrival. . . . :
