COACH MISHAP.

WASHED DOWN RIVES.

On Thursday afternoon the Tai-hape-Mangohane mail coach was washed down by a strong current while crossing the Rangitikei River with the mails. Mr. George Lord, a livery stable and taxi proprietor, was thrown out and sustained a fractured .collarbone. There were no passengers. The horses were got out and the coach is being salvaged to-day. The mails were saved uninjured.

A loan has been authorised for the erection of a-bridge-at this crossing on the Taihape-Napier Road.
