FLIGHT ROUND AUSTRALIA
(A. and N.Z. Cable.) MELBOURNE, August 4. Lieut. Parer commenced his flight round Australia from Melbourne in a biting wind.
A BAD START.

After travelling 40 miles Parer's engines developed trouble. He landed safely, and sent bis companions away to obtain wood for overhauling purposes. While they were away Parer started to overhaul the engine. A strong wind overbalanced him, and his legs and feet were caught in the revolving propeller. A big toe was broken and both feet were badly bruised. He is suffering severely from exposure. When his companions returned they removed him to hospital.
