j There- was an excellent display yesterday at the Tewhnioal School of , work of the 'viaiuous classes under- , going inistrucition, and a. considerable ; number of people visited the school : during the afternoon and inspected | the exhibits; Much" interest , was taken in. the. cooking. % electricity, and the display of appetdsdng' viands prepared by ■■< the scholars reflected great credit upon Missi Finkiy, the imsti-uctress, as well ■ <a® upon her pupils. The fancy work also> oam<et :n for favourable comment. In the wood turning section, under Mr Yeiates, there was a most oredittaibLei display, and also in' th© plumbing' class under Mi" Franklin. The, exhibition as a whole Avas a valuable demonstration of-what ■our boy si and girls can do undea* capable instructors. The' schools showingi eodiibita wea-e>: Thames High School. P'a,eroa District High School (secondary and. primary depm-trneaiit), Thames Convent, Paeraa Convent, and' public schools of Thames Central, South, and North, and Wharepoa, Hikuitaia, Kopu, and Puiriri. The gids oif the third form of the Thames High School acted as host., esses and dispensed afternoon tea, assisted by. jneimbea'Si of the other schools. 1 The afternoon tea was managed by Misses Dorothy Lloyd and Florence Franklin. The work of- tha exhibit was done under the direction, of the domestic science instructress, Misa Coni&tanoQ ■ Finlay. Othei* exhibits were: Commercial tshoi-thlamd >and typawritdnisr. 'under direction .Miss. Wiilgox.;, book-keeping, Miss Renshaiw; woodwork,, Mr Yates; plumbing, Mr-Franklin. The local superintendent is Mr Hammond.
