A further development will produce a valuable iron oxide paint, which is very scarce just now onift ccount of the war. Arrangements are also being completed in Ciiristchurch for the manufacture of caustic soda and hydrochloric acid by means of Lake Ooieridge power. In addition to these chemicals, •jalciuin carbide, which is practically unprocurable, will also ba manufactured! shortly in Chribtchurch. All this means, the establishment of an important industry in the Dominion, and one with unlimited possibilities.''
