LONDON, July 2 When the House of Conunons was in committee on the Finance Pill, Mr. Lough moved a. reduction of the tea duty from one shilling to eightpence per ib. Mr Bonar Law said he regretted the necessity for increasing! burdens, but revenue must be found. Tbt>. Government was endeavouring] to get revenue from those besfc able to contribute it, as shown by the excess of direct over indirect taxation. In 1913-L4 indirect taxation was sixty-nine millions and: the present budget was 102' millions. In 1913-1-1 direct taxation was ninety-three millions and was now 4616 million*. — A. and N.Zj Cable.
