J The Auckland Rugby League's annual excursion-to Thames takes place on Friday evening, when four teams of League players will visit Thames and play a series of matches at Dodd's paddock on Saturday afternoon. The 'first match is timed to start at 1.45 p.m., when Giafton and City will meet and play a curtain raiser to the match of the day. Thames Old Boys v. Richmond Rovers starts at 3 p.m. These matches should prove very interesting, as all the teams have just finished playing in, the Auckland League's tournaments, and good fast games are expected. The Thames public will be assured of seeing a good exhibition of the League code. Mr R. Benson (president of the Auckland League) accompanies the teams as manager, and the Auckland City i Band .will also accompany the players, and will render a programme on the ground. .
