CONCLUSION OF TEAfJHERS' CLASSES'.

After a fortnight's splendid training, in the matter of physical culture and hygiene, the teachers' classes •which have been daily \indergoing instruction at Thames, concluded yesterday much to the regret of all, the viistors and local teachers. One; and all expressed themselves in total accord with the- scheme, taking as v basis for this opinion their own personal benefits as tiie result of their instruction.

All will resume duties greatly re* generated and freshened and eager to transfer to their charge*.,the benefits of their fortnight's experiences.

Yesterday .afternoon the teachers assembled and spent a pleasant time in social chat. Afternoon tea. was dispensed and during a lull, opportunity was taken to present Miss Larsen, the ladies' Instructress, Avitli a handsome silver mounted manicure set, as a mark of appreciation of her valuable teaching and kindly advice. The presentation was made by Mrs -fryers, who vouched for her associates in their l.igh praise of Miss Larson's work, her untiring patience and keen interest in her adult charges. The fortnight had been a delightful one, and would alwaysl \m remembered a»*i pleasant form of .education. Miss Larson briefly replied and remarked on i.he cheerfulness of the pupils and their eagerness and vigour.

Mr Woraha-in. president of the Thames branch of the Teachers' Institute, spoke) a few words of farewell tin the teachers and endorsed all that had 'been said of the value of the training;. Mr Dean, a Wai hi teacher visitor, thanked the Thames teachers for their genuine hospitality towards them. They had-come, some of them as strangers, and would depart possessing many new found friends, while they had also, had the opportunity of cementing" old friendships, perhaps commenced in the education training days. Their visit to Thames was in every way one to be, remembered. The most "cordial relations had always existed.

In the evening a theatre, party, consisting of some 40 teachers, was formed, and viewed the programme at the Ring's Theatre. After the entertainment an enojumment was made to the Miners' Union Hall, -where after a light supper dancing was commenced. Misses McCarthy supplied the music and extras were played by Dr. Liapraik and Miss -H.us.sell. * Mr .].
