There was another big house at the •Central Picture Palace on Saturday night, when the Haj ward management presented a really admirable selection of cinema geras drawp f rom rthe studios of the best known makers. Of the numerous stars, the most brilliant is "(In Donovan's Division"

A vein •£f ■ romance suffuses tho whole piece with warmth. "The Toymaker" is a yita' story of the adoption by a toymaker of a little girl .r after her mouther's death. The father, a thief, enters the home of the adopted father And on the child coming on the scene, lie asks pardon and withdraws, determining, to .lead a better life. ; "The Wrecker" is another fine dramtia -study. Pathe Gazette and "The Mayfly," a coloured educational, appeal to all in the audience. The comedies are immense. The S. and A. fun probrokers cause much merriment, in "Bringing Father Bound," a humorous comedy of an adamant father and equally adamant lovers. "The Liady Sheriff" proxies a breezy figure on the •screen, ( while Tweedledum, Dick and Harry also ganlfbbl merrily. Tha orchest(ral items are catchy and appro--priate. The programme will be repeated to-night. Five competitors,- viz., Misses Morgan and Jackson, Mrs Gordon ■and Messrs C. Graham and B*. Challis ibied in the stud competion and each! ■vnll receive a bag" of coal, t&e management donating a further one. The competition is now on.
