STAFFING OF SCHOOLS.
Departing from rural education, Mr Mulgan then dealt with subjects of greater interest to the. teachers present, staffing was then referred to. Our schools Avere staffed according to definite regulations issued by the Department, and it was only too true that "viery many of the schools were understaffed, with the Jesuit of inefficient teaching. He had been advocating for years a more liberal staff, but had received the one reply- — teachers cannot be got. Of course they can be got, said Mr Mulgan warmly. Remunerate them adequately and the supply will not be found wanting. In this respect the public only required interesting and when once we get the public interested in this mutter the thing is as' good as done.
