Messrs Shaw (2) of Auckland ars at present on & business visit to Thames and are staying ait the Royal Hotel. Mr El H. Chapman, superintendent of the Tararu Homes, has been asked (and has acceded to the request) by the Walkat© Farmers' Union to give ; a paper on lucerne growing before the union on its next meeting.
Mr Easthope, who succeeds Mr W. Steward as telegraphist at the local post office* has arrived to take up his duties.
Mrs Lawless, from Te roha, is spending a holiday at Thames and is stopping at the Cornwall Arms Hotel.
Included among the list of visitors at: the Cornwall Arms Hotel are Misses O'Neill (2), from Wanganui, and Ormond.
Mr Diamond Jenness, a member of the Stefansson .;expedition, •which, left Victoria,, British Columbia, last weefe for the Arctic regions, is a native of Wellington, having been born there 214 years ago. His father, Mr G. Li. Jenness, is a resident of Lower Hutt. Mr Jenness, junior, finished his education at Oxford affer goingl through Wellington's principal colleges.
