A! serious' accident befel a co-op-erative worker named D. Oronin, employed on the railway works four miles beyond Matawai. Clronin was engaged driving a horse attached to a truck through a cutting.- on the railway construction works when he fell, and ibefore he could roll clear, the truck passed over him, severely injuring his head and shoulders. A number of ribs were broken. It is a miracle he was not killed outright. He was brought to town, and placed in the hospital. -.-,•■
