The New Zealands Company's Whakatane, which left Auckland on Friday, did not arrive at Wellington until early this morning. Owing to the gale she put into Gisborne for 16 hours. She also met with heavy weather from thence to Cook Strait, but no damage was done. Tfor some time before reaching Gisborne she was only able to steam at two knots an hour. .
