Owen Wiliams, curate of an Anglican Church in Clerkenwell, Londsn, has prosecuted David Pountney, a. foimer parishioner, far slandering him by saying'that he had misbehaved himself with Mrs Pountney. The pliaintiff asserted that this was an abominable lie, and in cross-examina-tion he denied that he ever put his arm around tEe verger's wife's waist. Mrs Pountney stated in court that she showed the curate the door. She admitted r. certain happening, and she told Iht husband because Williams had not (r -Npci about her lately.
