NEW YORK TAXI BANDITS.
JEWELLERY SHOP RAIDED
NEW YORK, -March 6,
Filing on the clerks in charge of a Broadway jewellery •■store late last night, three taxi-cab bandits secured possession of about £2,000 worth"'of" jewels and fled.
As the robbers rushed out of the shop four detectives standing on ttie opposite side of the street drew their revolvers, and in a.-few seconds bullets were, flying thick arid last.
The bandit* deserted to car in which they had driven up to the store, and scurrying into a side street jumped into r. second taxi and got, right away.
The police subsequently picked up the greater part of the stolen jewels*, which the thieves had dropped in their flight.
