ROAD AT WILSON'S BAY.
Sir, —In las* night's issue of the Stai' appeared an aa-ticile re road at Wilson's Bay. Now, sir, I wish to contradict a 1 statement made by Cr j Heebie. He .states that I hold the -ounty responsible for any slips tihati may com^ dowto, -which he would see was not correct, if he mid my letter to the Council, dated 7th Ootdbar, as under:— "As I am not satisfied with the rslac© the County Eln-gineer h^s pidked to igjet stone for tha wall that is to be let on contract on Tuesday, I will hold th& County responsible for any damage done !by slip, caused 1 thereby." Now 1, sir, if Or Deeble wa* to examine the place I object to when he is down the Coast he -Would see- my corit«ntion was right, as at that particiulsir place thea-e is only a bar of herd rook about 4ft thick. I may also state here that I offered tfoeCounty through their Ebgineer and foreman a place 'to get stone out for the wall, but they reckoned tlie srton^ was not suitable. If the rock war? no good why did the Ooainit.y cart the same class of rock over hnlf p.. miile to build t». wall about- ten chiaina long, and pull our fence down to got' same? Thanking; you in a l ntioipa, tion.:—I am., etc., A. B. WILSON, ■ Ctoast Rioad. i>eeemibei- stli, 1912.
