TIMAKiU, Decembe 6. A remarkable and serious accident occurred during the Te-muika C*aledonian Society's road race yesterday. At titie winning post Geo. Ward, presddenit of the Society, dropped his pencil, and stooped! to pick it up. Just then a cyclist came along a.t a speed of about 25 milee pea- hour, and a pedal struck Ward on the head. He fell undonsoioua bleeding' from the moutlhi, nose, and ears. He waa ooa^eyed to tlae hospital, and. bis condition is regarded as serious. The cyclist -wiais thrown, ; but uninjured. :■■• -"'. ■ "
