We are pleased to record the fan* that the Thames Band contest promises to be one of the most successful musical, gatherings of the kind held lin any district outside the city of Aftwklgfnd. Already ft bands hive entered for the various grades, and there is every probability that additional entries will be received before the end of the present month. The Executive Committee will meet at the Grahamstown, Fire Brigade Station to-morrow eveningl, when the question* of whether a one or two days' contest will (be discussed and decided! The official programsne will be finally ! drafted and the various sub-commitr I tees iwill be appointed.
