The ship Braicore, .bound from Hastings Mills, Canada^ to 'Adelaide, with a, cargo of timber, effected the rescue _at sea of a. shipwrecked' crew.

Tttie look-out noticed a, raft floating in this open sea iti latitude 47 north, lomgitud© 128 west', in th,e Pacific Obean, off tho western, coast of the United States.

The ship boreTdown on the raft, which was 1 found to contain sixteen members of tho shipwreck crew of the American, lumber vessel Great Admiral.

Boats wore lowered, .and the crew _pf the Bareore succeeded in rescuing the erew 1 of the wrecked vessel.

They arrived none too siO'on, the occupants, of the raft being in an exhausted condition! owing to exposure and lack of food.
