Sir, —Wfej, the ujndersiignedj, dele- | gates from the Miners' Union to the Committtee eonsideiringi the boring proposals, desire to notify that we withdrew from last night's meeting aisi a protest against the action of the" committee.. First, in refusing to postpone the deputation to the Minister, to ask for <a subsidy, till after the. election, in. order to avoid giving the matter a political bias. Second, in refusing "to. sanction the deputation' waiting upon Mr Lucas as well as Mr MeGowa.n, so as to give each candidate and equal opportunity to express his opinion upon the question.—We are, etc..
