THE LASCAR QUESTION.
LONDON, June 22. Mr Justice Mathews has laid down the rule that the Merchant Shipping Act governed the question, not the Indian Act, and the Peninsular and Orient Company were bound to provide a crew space for Laacars in accordance with the English Act, which was not exclusive legislation for Lascars.
