Bush, S.M.). ~ WITHOUT VISIBLE MEANS George .1, Powell was charged with being found in Tararu without visible moan? of support on 29th hist Sergeant Clarke stated the accused had been in the Old Men's Home, but 1 ft of his own accord, stating he wantid to go to Tapu. This was the second time he had strayed from the Eome. In re'p'y to the : Magistrate the accused said he was not able to work, being panlised in one leg He thought he had been too 'ong in the Home, He had uo means. The Magistrate pointed out that if he would not stay in the Old Men's Home there was no alternative but to send him to Mount Eden Gaol, where he would have to do some work. He did not care to send to gaol an old man who had not committed any great crime. Ou the accused promising to remain in the Home if again admitted, the Magistrate remanded the case till Monday, the Police in the meantime to communicate with the Chairman of the Charitable Aid Bpard. PtfUNKEtfNESS. Win Ryan, a prohibited person, was sentenced to 48 hours' imprisonment, or 10s and costs, for being drunk in the streets. The second offence within three months
