A Tapu correspondent writes: "A sorrowful procession left the residence, of Mr Walter Plummer at Tapu, the occasion being the conveying to the cemetery the remains of EdAvard Francis Holt, infant son of Mr David Holt, of this place. The funeral was largely attended, showing the sympathy of the residents with the bereaved parents. The obsequies was performed (in the absence of a clergyman) by Capt. Newby, J.P., who read the beautiful service for the dead in an impressive manner. The ceremony concluded by singing the hymn "Safe in the arms of Jesus," by the school children,.
